	Hello Eco Conscious Business :: XO Earth is seeking 1 million Earth lovers to put on the eco XO hug and kiss by 2011! Participating businesses are offering an XO Earth Credit in exchange for a "love letter to the planet" that they have written describing an eco action(s) they have taken in the last week. The XO Earth Credit you choose to offer customers may include an XO Earth Discount -- or -- an EarthE Handshake, EarthE Kiss, EarthE Words and/or other EarthE Arts. To receive an XO Earth Credit at *participating businesses*, the customer is asked to :: 1/ Wear the XO to show they are taking one or more actions for the planet every day. 2/ Give the business a letter to the planet that thay have written, signed and dated that describes one or more eco actions the person has taken for the planet in the last week. 3/ Have their XO Earth membership card with them. Posting the eco love letters received from customers' on a bulletin board for others to read is a sweet way to inspire them to take environmental actions too. The EarthE Credit is an XO Earth sister project and credit that businesses are welcomed to use along with the XO Earth Credit. To start offering an XO Earth Credit at your business, simply print, fill-out and post the XO Earth Credit sign at your business. You can print these little 4.25" x 5.5" signs at www.xoearth.org/CreditSign.htm. To fill-out your XO Earth Credit sign, write the Credit/ discount that you have decided to offer on the first blank line, and then your business's name on the bottom. Print and Post Tips :: The sign looks best if it is printed on heavier paper, and laminated, or covered with clear packing tape. To make some nice table-tents, put some double-sided tape near the signs' fold-line. Once you have made (or received) your signs, post them on your front door, by the cash register, and elsewhere. The signs describe how the XO Earth Credit works in a way that customers and employees can quickly understand. Print your XO Earth Credit sign at www.xoearth.org/CreditSign.htm. Order Your Signs :: We will be happy to make your signs for you if you make a donation via Paypal or credit card of any amount to XOEarth.org. Once we have received your donation, we will fill-out, laminate and send you four, double-sided, good looking 4.25" x 5.5" XO Earth Credit signs in the mail. Size and Kind Of Credit:: The Credit(s) your business offers is up to you. In general, current businesses that are participating are giving a sales discount, and the XO Earth Handshake, as their Credit. Current discounts offered range from 5 cents to 25% off. The most common discount is "Up to 10% Off". We hope you will consider a discount that is "Up to 15% Off" or "Up to 20% Off". [Some businesses find that 10% discounts are seldom utilized.] If you prefer to limit your XOEarth Credit to specific items or to a specific day of the week that's fine too. One business limits their Credit to one item only. However, 90% of the XO Earth businesses that give XO Earth Credits have signed up have not set such limitations. By the way, the reason we keep calling it an XO Earth Credit -- and not XO Earth Discount -- is because businesses may choose to honor their environmental customers in ways that do not include a discount. As well a simple "thank you", this "credit" might include the EarthE Handshake or EarthE Kiss. Biz Directory:: Once your business starts giving XO Earth Credits, contact us if you want us to add you to the EARTHE / XO EARTH BUSINESS DIRECTORY. Opting Out:: To stop giving XO Earth Credits, simply remove your XO Earth Credit signs at your business location. Then contact us and we will remove your name from the EARTHE / XO EARTH BUSINESS DIRECTORY Marketing and Press:: We will contact local press and media to get coverage for the XO Earth Credit in your area. We encourage the media to announce participating businesses in their coverage. To stretch your own business's advertising and PR dollars, consider teaming up with other XO Earth businesses to announce that you are giving XO Earth Credits via joint advertising and joint press releases.
