We are honored to unveil the Sexy Vitruvian Man & Woman XOEarth Award in recognition of Grist.org’s crucial and witty environmental news and commentary in the protection of our biosphere..
These XOEarth Awards are based on Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing of the Vitruvian Man. We have done both a Vitruvian Man and Vitruvian Woman version. And yes, the Grist team includes both superb women journalists and superb men journalists that are even more eco sexy than the woman and man on this XOEarth Award.
On this environmental award, the circle in Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing is represented by the Earth – as it is Grist’s goal to help extend the life of this freaking sexy planet!
The Vitruvian Man and Vitruvian Woman being stark naked on this eco award is way to salute Grist for uncovering and laying bare the environmental truths of today. Their reporting on environmental issues ranging from global warming and commuting by bike, to clotheslines and homemade greenhouses (all of which makes us want to take off our clothes too) is not tainted by corporate advertiser dollars. And so we get the ecological truth in the nude or at least skimpy, from those Grist bodies!
So yes, we recommend that you donate to that sexy Grist team, if you please.
Grist reporters and writers are true to their word as they “cover climate, energy, food, cities, politics, business, green living, and the occasional adorable baby animal”. And yes they do “get people talking, thinking, and taking action” that benefits our air, water, soil and planet’s climate.
As stated by the Grist, “At Grist, we think the fate of the world and the people who live here is a pretty important topic. So we take our work seriously — but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Because of the many things this planet is running out of, sanctimonious tree-huggers ain’t one of them.”
We love the Grist team for that work and their whipper snappy attitudes!
They even say, “You know how some people make lemonade out of lemons? At Grist, we’re making lemonade out of looming climate apocalypse. It’s more fun than it sounds, trust us!”

A world of thanks to Grist for working so tirelessly for our priceless biosphere.
For all the life, Stele Ely
