put to sleep my car, a cup of sand set it free
cuz baby likes sweet air, cars make baby sneeze
so I walk and dance, bus and bike around
cuz baby likes blue sky, no hurricanes spinning round
it’s not just the traffic jams, insurance, license, repairs g a d
it’s driving solo in a stinking box and pretending not to care g em a
so with my eco bling and a smartphone em a em d
I’m baby’s green flash in the streetzone em a d
dead motor in my car, one cup of sand for love and peace
(no motor in my car, melted for love and peace)
cuz baby likes the forests, cars hurt the magic trees
so I walk and rideshare, bus and bike around
cuz baby likes the rain, with no poisons coming down
it’s not just the taxes, noise, parking, gasoline
it’s knowing it’s a life-sucking, extinction machine
so with my eco bod, transit card and computer
I’m baby’s stealthy wired “road” scholar
(earthe spry sprightly agile)
de-part my car, recycle it piece by piece
cuz baby likes the fishies, cars hurt the deep blue sea
so I skate, rideshare or tricycle around
cuz baby likes the life, and more kissing all round
long gone is a car, traded for love and peace
cuz baby likes sweet air, cars make baby sneeze

Do NOT destroy the engine in your car if it gets good gas mileage. If your car gets good gas mileage, it is better to donate your car to an environmental non-profit that needs a car. Only destroy the engine in your car if it gets bad gas mileage or is overly polluting. Do not destroy your car unless you own it in full.
Caution: Although I have not heard of it happening, I think that a car could catch on fire or explode if sand is added to it. If sand is added to an engine without professional automotive supervision, someone could be hurt or killed. Search Google before for the latest, most professional information about destroying your car’s engine by adding sand to it. Even though I have added sand to two of my cars – a Jeep Cherokee and a Ford Van – to destroy the engines, I am NOT an expert or a professional mechanic. I have NOT researched in depth the implications of adding sand or sodium silicate to a car’s engine.
So, I think this may be the best way to destroy the engine in your clunker or bad gas mileage car that you own by adding sand to it:
+ Drive your car to the salvage yard. Get a signed statement from the salvage yard that although the car may be stripped for parts, the car and frame itself will not be resold. Give your clear car title to the salvage yard.
+ Get qualified professional mechanics to help you add sand to your car.
+ Have at least three full large fire extinguishers close by.
+ Remove the oil port cap, then pour one or two cups of sand into the “add oil port”.
[Note: To destroy the engine, your car must have an “add oil port” that adds oil to the top part of the engine. If the “add oil port” takes the oil down to the oil pan, the sand may be filtered out of the oil before it goes through to the engine to destroy it. I am guessing that sand could also be added via the air intake or the spark plug holes – find out for sure first.]
+ Also add sand to the radiator water port, and add oil to the transmission oil fill port.
+ Then, run the engine until the engine freezes or catches fire or explodes.
+ Celebrate… pop the champagne… feel the kisses from the future kids and critters.
+ Send us your story about putting your car to sleep. We will send you a cool looking signed EarthE Award.
Notes: Your car may still be worth some money even after the motor is ruined. Therefore, before going to the salvage yard you may be able to make a deal to sell the car to them. If you get qualified professional mechanics to help you safely add sand to your car where you live, you might then be able to advertise your car for sale for parts only. Engines that go bad in older cars are usually not replaced, because it is too expensive and too much trouble to put in a re-built engine. Sodium-silicate or liquid glass is another way kill a car motor. Sodium-silicate was used in the United States governments Cash for Clunkers program to totally freeze automobile engines.
