“GREEN, GREEN HOME” BALLAD TO HONOR SOLAR DECATHLON TEAM WINNERS.

A University of Colorado’s solar design team ranked first overall in a U.S. Department of Energy’s 2002 Solar Decathlon that was created to encourage architecture schools to construct innovative and attractive solar-powered houses.

The University of Virginia’s team took second overall while the Auburn University’s team took third overall in a field of 14 universities that participated.

A love ballad named “Green, Green Home” that is about a guy looking for an environmentally conscious home for his love and himself because he wants them to live a healthier life together was written and performed to honor these winners. This fun song also encourages builders to construct houses that are environmentally friendly. The current musicians are Paul Helou [vocals], Mike [mandolin], Barry [banjo] and Mary Ann [fiddle] and Stele- songwriter.
